North Port is primarily located in Sarasota County. A portion of it borders Charlotte County. North Port is the fastest-growing city in Sarasota County and where much of the new construction and housing growth is occurring. It is still very affordable where you can find mostly single-family homes on nice sized lots spaced apart. It is the fifth largest city in Florida with 77 square miles of land and an 8,000-acre state forest within its limits. Only nine percent of North Port is actually populated.
